Chill balance puzzle

Balance Buddies

Drop the buddies. Find the balance. Breathe out.

Every puzzle is a contraption that will not sit still: a hanging mobile, a seesaw, a Ferris wheel, a bar on two springs, a raft on the water. Drag the buddies up from the tray and drop each one where it balances. No clock, no game over, just the quiet moment when everything comes level.

Balance Buddies, First Swing: three buddies hanging from a two-tier mobile at sunset.
Balance Buddies key art: a wobbly tower of colourful monster buddies beside the game's logo, in a blue sky full of clouds.

How it plays

Drag. Drop. Balance.

One tray of buddies, one contraption, and one right answer, which the physics tells you about the moment you find it.

  1. 01

    Pick a buddy

Every puzzle starts with a tray of buddies at the bottom of the screen, each with its weight printed on it. Drag one up and drop it where you think it belongs.

Little Builder: number blocks and a little house on a wooden beam balanced on a rock.
  2. 02

    Find the balance

Hang it from a hook, sit it on a peg, float it on a raft. Every contraption follows the real rule: on a mobile, weight times distance has to match on both sides. The meter at the top tells you how close you are.

First Swing: a hanging mobile with three buddies on numbered hooks and a balance meter at the top.
  3. 03

    Let it settle

When everything is level and holds still for a moment, the puzzle is solved. Fewer moves earn more stars, and anything that falls off simply glides back to the tray.

Springy: buddies on a bar hung from two springs that stretch by different amounts.

The contraptions

Six ways to tip the scales.

Each one is a small lesson in real physics, and the later puzzles mix them: mystery crates, wind, ice, thorns and conveyor belts.

  • A two-tier mobile with buddies hanging from numbered hooks.

    Mobiles

Bars hanging from bars. Weight times distance has to cancel out on every one of them.

  • Heavy Metal: a wooden seesaw on a stand with a metal block at one end.

    Seesaws

Stone, wood and metal blocks on a real tilting plank. Metal is heavier than it looks.

  • Ferris Wheel: two buddies riding a wheel that has swung off level.

    Ferris wheels

Riders on a turning wheel. It only comes to rest level when their weights cancel around the hub.

  • Springy: buddies on a bar hung from two coiled springs.

    Springs

A bar on two springs of different stiffness. Load it until both stretch by exactly the same amount.

  • Lazy Raft: stone and wooden crates piled on a raft floating on calm water.

    Rafts

Crates on a raft that really floats. Load it so it rides level on the water.

  • Up and Away: two balloons and a buddy hanging from a tilted bar.

    Balloons

Balloons pull up instead of down. They count against the weight, and they are the trick in more than one puzzle.

Stuck?

A hint, never a wall.

A hint shows a glowing ghost exactly where the next buddy goes. A step you have revealed stays revealed, on a retry and on your other phone.

  • Ten hints to start, and one comes back every four hours.
  • Watch a short video for two more, whenever you like.
  • Or buy a pack. Every puzzle can be solved without one.

Fair play

Calm, on purpose.

  • No timers, no game over

Nothing counts down and nothing can be lost. Whatever falls off glides back to the tray, so you can try again straight away.

  • Real maths, real physics

Every puzzle is solved by the actual rule, the lever law, Hooke's law or buoyancy, not by guessing what the designer had in mind.

  • Adverts that keep out of the way

None in your first eight puzzles, never in the middle of one, and no banners. After that a short advert may play between puzzles, and a No Ads subscription switches them off.

  • Plays without a signal

Every puzzle runs on your phone. Adverts, the shop and cloud saving need a connection; the puzzles do not.

  • Your progress, kept safe

Progress is backed up from your first puzzle under an anonymous account. Sign in with Google or Apple to carry it to another phone.

  • Soft on the ears

Gentle sounds tuned to the same musical key, and calm music, made for the sofa at the end of a long day.

Questions

The short answers.

The longer ones, and the ones about purchases and accounts, are on the support page.

Does it cost anything?

No. Balance Buddies is free, and every puzzle can be solved without spending anything. You can buy extra hints, or a subscription that switches the adverts off.

Are there adverts?

Yes, gently. There are none in your first eight puzzles and never during one. After that, a short advert may play after every second puzzle you finish. Videos for extra hints are always your choice, and the No Ads subscription, or the Starter Bundle's 30 ad-free days, turns the rest off.

What if I get stuck?

Use a hint. It shows a glowing ghost where the next buddy goes. You start with ten, one comes back every four hours, and a short video gives you two more.

Do I need an account or a connection?

Neither. Every puzzle runs on your phone with no signal. An anonymous account backs up your progress; sign in with Google or Apple only if you want to play on another device.

Will it run on my phone?

It needs Android 8.0 or iOS 15 and not much else.

Is it suitable for children?

It is made for everyone. There is no chat, no messaging, and nothing about you that other players can see.
